Our Trip to Tucson

Well, we had a busy weekend. We drove down on Friday through a dust storm and rain....really exciting! We got to our hotel about 5:30pm and decided to drive around town to find something to eat. (I would not recommend this if you do not know where you are going.) We ended up at Wendy's right next to the hotel at 8:30pm....don't ask how that happened!

The next day we headed to Karchner Caverns, about an hours drive, just outside of Benson. It was a great time of picture taking in the museum and wonderful weather! Kendra fell asleep during the tour and never got scared. We could not take any pictures in the cavern but here are some fun shots we took at the museum.

Then we went to Benson for lunch, the town so small you can sneeze and you will miss it. We ate at Ironwood Grill which is 1 of 5 restaurants recommended in the AAA book. It was a little restaurant..I mean little....on a small golf course. Nice views of the mountains surrounding us. Good food and Kendra ate her sweet potatoes. After lunch we decided to be adventurous and head to Tombstone, only 20 miles away.

We saw a comedy act/gun show which was funny. I know, Uncle Keith would have said, "That is so inappropriate!" Glad Kendra had no idea what they were saying.

She did however keep looking at them...I think she thought, "You look strange!"
(You can decide that on your own.)

We saw the world's largest rose bush! Yes, it is still in the Guinness Book of World Records and noted in the AAA book. Then we headed back to Tucson and stopped at the Candy Station in Benson...I could not pass up a deal on buy 1 lb of fudge get 1/2 lb free!! There were signs along the road...we had to stop! HEHEHEHE!

Then for dinner we ate at Mi Nidito, Aunt Pam and Uncle Dennis recommended it. So here are the pictures to prove we made it.

On Sunday we went to the Desert Museum. We tried to go early since it was a warm day. We got a really cool picture of the Mountain Lion! Glad he was asleep....he probably would have had Kendra for a snack and Lyndon for the main course. You can tell Kendra is nervous!

In the end our weekend was fun and we will definitely have to do more down in southern Arizona. There is so much to do there and it is very pretty. We miss you all and I am glad you are enjoying the pictures!
